New York Sour


  • 2 oz bourbon whiskey
  • ¾ oz Lemon Juice
  • ¾ oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Red Wine (recommend a dry red wine like Malbec or cabernet sauvignon)


Combine all ingredients, except for the red wine, into a cocktail shaker, and add ice. Shake for 7-10 seconds until properly chilled and diluted. Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass over ice, or one large ice cube. Using the back of your bar spoon (or a regular kitchen spoon), pour the red wine over the back of the spoon into your cocktail to make it float at the top. Garnish with a lemon wheel or lemon twist.
