Spiced Cranberry Sage Julep With Hardy Cognac
- 2.5 oz Hardy Cognac Legend 1863
- 1/2 oz spiced cranberry syrup
- Dash of angostura bitters
- 3-4 muddled sage leaves
In a double rocks glass, add in the sage leaves, bitters, and spiced cranberry syrup. Gently muddle, then add in the Hardy Legend 1863 Cognac. Top with some crushed ice, and stir (or swizzle) to combine. Top with more crushed ice and garnish with a sprig of sage and 2-3 cranberries.
Spiced Cranberry Syrup Instructions:
In a sauce pan, combine 1.5 cups of water, a handful or two of cranberries, 2-3 broken up cinnamon sticks, and juice from half an orange. Bring to a light simmer until the cranberries start to break. Add in equal parts white granulated sugar. Gently stir to dissolve the sugar and remove the pan from the heat. Let the syrup cool down, then strain out the solids and store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
